Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) & Community Events
Who: Grades 7 - 12
When: Meetings occur on Monday evenings leading up to community events
Cost: FREE!

O-YA's YAC are a volunteer group of youth in Grades 7 - 12 who live in rural south Ottawa. The YAC helps O-YA plan and run 4 community events throughout the year (The 'Goode Run Hype Squad in May, Summer Block Party in June, Haunted Trail in October and Christmas in the Village in December). Being a part of O-YA's YAC is very hands on! You will come to meetings (approximately 3 before each event) to be part of the planning. And, we mean a BIG part of the planning! YAC members create themes, come up with ideas for activities, decide what fits in each event budget, create stations (sometimes literally building structures and making costumes). Then, on event days, the YAC run the show (with some help from O-YA staff). Learn more here
