O-YA is looking for Volunteers for our After School Homework Club!
Volunteering at O-YA's After School Homework Club is a FUN way to get your High School volunteer hours. But, lots of our volunteers stay long after they've gotten their hours because it's such a great way to spend a couple of hours after school.
This position is open to youth in Grades 8 - 12. We are looking for students who are outgoing, friendly, proactive, fun, energetic and like to be around kids. If you have babysat and liked it, you will probably enjoy being an After School volunteer!
About Volunteering at O-YA's After School Homework Club
We ask that O-YA's After School volunteers commit to a full year of volunteering; one day per week from September 2025 - June 2026. The start time is as soon as you can get to O-YA after school (usually about 3/3:30 pm) until 5:30 pm.
After School volunteers help with snack, entertain and engage participants during free time (it's just like being a kid again yourself; playing LEGO, board games, sports, drawing, etc.), help with Workshops, assist kids (in Grades 1 - 6) with their homework and generally help Youth Workers with programming and supervision.
