A great way to spend a chilly February Saturday afternoon! Our day will include a cozy comfort food lunch of Chili with a fun Toppings Bar, warm Garlic Bread and Salad. We will also be providing a Hot Chocolate Bar to enjoy during the How to Help a Friend presentation and ice cream sundaes for dessert.

The How to Help a Friend Workshop will be presented by
CHEO's Youth Net. Here is a description of Youth Net's Workshop:

Friends are a huge protective factor in our lives so what happens when our friends ask us to support them? This interactive presentation helps you navigate that in a healthy and safe way. We do not want you to become a mini psychologist, but rather, we hope that you will learn about the different resources in and around Ottawa and learn how to best support that friend in need. Through interactive activities and games, you will become comfortable and familiar with understanding why sometimes asking for help can be difficult.

Note: YNRA presentations are about mental health and our facilitators are ASIST (applied suicide intervention skills training) trained and should a youth disclose any concerns regarding their mental health, our facilitators will follow a protocol to ensure their safety.
