O-YA is excited to announce a NEW program for youth in Osgoode in partnership with the Community Development Framework (CDF) called, 'Creating the Change we Want'. Creating the Change We Want is about creating positive change in our community. We will create the opportunities and teach youth the skills they need to get together to bring about positive change in their neighbourhoods and actively participate in decision-making that affects their lives.Over the course of 6 weeks, youth will cook dinner together, have discussions surrounding ways to be involved in the community and do leadership based activities. This program was created to give youth the opportunity to build leadership skills and be excited about getting involved in our community. Topics include: Being a Leader, Strengthening our neighbourhood, building positive relationships, getting the word out, caring for ourselves and each other and working together to plan action.

Week 4 (Tuesday, April 28) Discussion Topic: Getting the Word Out and Engaging Residents in our Neighbourhood Dinner: Caesar Salad, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Angel Food Cake Trifles
Week 5 (Tuesday, May 5) Discussion Topic: Caring for Ourselves and Each Other Dinner: Strawberry Feta Spinach Salad, Stuffed Peppers, Caramel Apple Cheesecake Dip
