Following the captivating performance, Amanda will delve deeper into the world of powwows, regalia, and diverse powwow dances. But the excitement doesn’t end there! Amanda will invite you to participate in the experience through an interactive powwow workout. Embracing the spirit of dance, she will guide participants through engaging and energetic exercises inspired by powwow dance movements.
More about the artist: Amanda Fox is Ojibwe and a proud member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory and currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario. Bringing over 30 years of experience, dancing Pow Wow since she could walk, Amanda is a cultural advocate dedicated to sharing stories and traditions through different art forms, including dance, beadwork, and sewing. Combining her love of pow wow dance, storytelling, and Zumba, Amanda created an innovative fitness experience that promotes holistic wellness while sharing her knowledge and experiences. Pow Wow Workout integrates Indigenous pow wow stories, steps, and songs into an empowering fitness regimen. This program provides a fun and guided workout and ignites a platform to honour and share Indigenous culture with a broader audience. Amanda is dedicated to ensuring that participants feel safe while learning, and she takes great joy in teaching and making a meaningful impact on her learners.
