Collective Connection: A New Program at O-YA Recently, O-YA conducted a community needs assessment and asked residents what kinds of programs they’d like to see. One clear theme emerged: opportunities to strengthen connections between youth and their parents/caregivers. In response, O-YA is launching Collective Connection — a pilot series designed to bring youth and their caregivers together through fun, shared experiences. Once a month, we’ll host a community event that gives youth a chance to connect with a parent, grandparent, guardian, or another important caregiver in their life. NEW in 2026, we are opening a limited number of tickets to adult community members as well!
Who Can Attend This event is open to all community members. Adults may attend on their own. Youth must be accompanied by an adult (no drop-offs). Tickets Individual Ticket – $15 For adults attending without youth. Family Ticket – $25 For adults attending with youth (covers the adult(s) and youth(s) in their care).
Saturday February 21, 2026; 1:00 pm - Bird Suet Come gather and create your own bird suet using locally sourced, everyday ingredients. In the spirit of sustainability, please bring a loaf pan, mixing bowl, spatula and measuring cup (1-cup recommended). You'll learn how to attract more birds to your land and leave with a loaf pan full of homemade suet plus a suet feeder to have at home. Please note ticket availability are subject to change. Space is limited and priority is given to tickets that include youth. Ticket sales close Thursday 19th at midnight!
Saturday March 28, 2026 1:00 pm - Spring Coaster Participants will design and paint a unique coaster inspired by a Spring garden theme, using reference photos for inspiration while choosing their own images and colours. No two coasters will alike, and all skill levels are welcome—this workshop is about creativity, learning, and connection as much as the finished piece.
*O-YA is committed to cost not being a barrier to program participation. If you, or anyone you know, would like to attend a program but find it challenging for financial reasons, please email [email protected]. We will gladly make arrangements that work for you. Please note, O-YA's subsidy program is only open to residents of Osgoode Ward, Kars and North Gower. Subsidy program is only available for tickets that include youth participants.
