We Love Volunteers!

Looking for an engaging way to earn your Community Service Credits? Want to give back to your community? Love hanging out with youth, being a mentor, being active and having FUN? Volunteer at O-YA!

Volunteer Opportunities at O-YA

O-YA runs an After School Homework Club for ages 7 - 12, Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 5:30 pm. Part of this After School Club includes supervised homework time where students compete their homework with the assistance of O-YA Youth Workers and volunteer tutors. This is where you could come in ... !!

O-YA is currently recruiting volunteers tutors to supervise homework studies during our After School Club. We ask that volunteers make a 'school year long' commitment (September 2012 - June 2013) for one day per week. We require our volunteers to be present during homework time (3:30 pm - 4:30 pm), but you are always welcome to come before that time, or stay later to help out with snack or activities.

Being a volunteer homework tutor is a GREAT way to get lots of volunteer hours for school! Volunteering at O-YA is fun, rewarding, social, looks fantastic on a resume, is great work experience - and challenging (in a good way!).

If you have any questions, or would like to apply for this volunteer position, please contact Nicole McKerracher at o-yacentre@rogers.com or 613-826-0726.
